I returned to my Frankfurt efficiency last weekend and tried to sleep quite a lot but didn't succeed. I only slept a medium amount.

New York is next on the list, and I'm quite happy about that. I will get to see some friends and be back on home soil. I feel free and brave already.

ZRH-LHR-ZRH

It is the 4th of July and I am experiencing pangs of homesickness. I used to never feel homesick; my sentimental side must be emerging!

Frankfurt is now my residence (though the home for which I feel sick is the US one). I found out about the type of apartment I live in through a conversation with my cousin:

Christine: How is your apartment in Frankfurt?
Jenny: Hmm, I don't think it counts as an apartment. It is too small.
Christine: Oh, a studio.
Jenny: Is there something smaller than a studio.
Christine: Oh, hahaha. In New York they are called "efficiencies".

So, I live in an efficiency.

At my little home away from home this weekend, I will do my best to substitute for a 4th of July bbq. Tomorrow night I am going to a FIG bbq (a prelude to a training day), and during this weekend I shall make sure I get some of the best currywurst in town with a big order of red and white fries.
